Saddles

Sinclair SaddleSinclair Saddle
Sinclair Saddle RearSinclair Saddle in use
Above are two of seven saddles Carney custom designed and built for well-known Missouri horseman Dave Sinclair. The saddle on the left is the first one built. The saddle on the right, the Sinclair Special, including saddle, bridle, breastcollar, and removable saddle bags; was the seventh saddle. On the far right is Sinclair's granddaughter trying out the new saddle.
Ranch Saddle
Adjustable Rigging SaddleAdjustable Rigging
The saddle on the left is a ranch style saddle that is almost elegant in its simplicity. This saddle is built for comfort during long working hours and is accented with laced leather. The saddle on the right features adjustable rigging for redistributing weight and is also built with comfort in mind for horse and rider.
Saddle with oak leaf toolingSaddle with oak leaf tooling
Patented 2-Seater Saddle
On the left side is a lightweight saddle accented with oak leaf design hand tooling. Tooling such as this takes many hours to complete. On the right side is a saddle designed to seat a small child safely in front of the rider. It was built on an 18" cutting horse tree so it will fit most horses. John Carney has the US Patent on this design.

Restored Ladie's Saddle
The saddle on the left is a sturdy working saddle with a cushioned deer-skin seat. The middle saddle has a classy simple design, with matching breastcollar, saddle bags, and pommel bag and is built for long hours in the saddle. On the right is a ladies saddle Carney restored to original condition.

John Carney is also a very talented artist. His natural artistic talent helps him see things "finished" before he starts. His charcoal drawings illustrate this talent.
